Watchdog says new housing sales in Russia rise 24% in Jan–Sep

MOSCOW, Nov 19 (PRIME) -- Russians signed 708,000 equity housing construction agreements in January–September, 24% more than in the same period in 2020, the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography said in a statement on Friday.

Sales in Moscow amounted to 115,000 deals, in the Moscow Region to 95,000 deals, in St. Petersburg to 61,000 deals, in the Krasnodar Region to 51,000 deals and in the Sverdlovsk Region to 25,000 deals in January–September. In October, new housing sales amounted to 76,000 deals.

Mortgage deals grew 19% to 3.2 million in January–September. In October, 322,000 mortgage loans were issued.

Deals on the secondary market increased 20% to 3.4 million in January–September. A total of 386,000 deals were struck on the secondary market in October.
